Healthy Eating Sessions

Here at Dingle Lane we want nothing but the best for your children. This is why we have come up with our unique Healthy Eating Sessions for you and your children to enjoy. We aim to promote healthy eating by allowing your children to eat naturally healthy foods in a fun and exciting way.

Healthy Start

Healthy Start is here to give your child the very best start in life. If youre pregnant or have a child under 4, and you are claiming benefits, you could get vouchers to spend on milk, fresh fruit and vegetables, plus a coupon that you can swap for free vitimins. These free vitimins can be colected here at Dingle Lane Children Centre. Just pick up an application pack and get your Midwife or Health Visitor to sign it, and send it back in its freepost envelope. For further information go to http://www.healthystart.nhs.uk/

Free Milk

To encourage all children to drink heralthy milk, we now have available, after all our sessions, free milk for your child to take away and drink. Just ask at reception, or collect one from the couter (while stocks last each day)

Free fruit

We have always encouraged children to eat fresh fruit, and have previously, here at Dingle Lane  offered a variety of fruits after various sessions throughout the week. Due to financial cuts to children centre budgets we had unfortunately had to end the free fruit available in our reception for you and your child to taste and enjoy. However we hope to offer the fresh fruit again in the future. It would be nice if we could once again continue with the fresh fruit, but that will depend on what our financial situation is at that time.

Yum Yum Yummy

in the past we ran a 6 week course making healthy snacks with fun activities that celebrate good food, aimed at children 2 years and over, along with their parents. All ingredients and equipment are provided and everyone went away with tips and ideas to take home and share with the family. We hope to run this again, so look out for new dates as places are limited, so please book your place through the centre.
